Report Card on Barriers to Affordable Legal Help
Responsive Law's Report Card on Barriers to Affordable Legal Help grades each state on how restrictions created by lawyers prevent people from finding affordable legal help. The report card analyzes three areas in which the legal establishment has stood between the American public and solutions to their legal problems. First, we analyzed obstacles that the bar has placed in the way of more affordable lawyers. Second, we analyzed restrictions that lawyers place on receiving legal help from competent non-lawyers. Finally, we analyzed how well each state's court system handles self-represented litigants.
